The beginning of the end of the Charlie Weis!

Figured this would make for an interesting weekly item as we watch the beginning of the end of the Charlie Weis era … err, the ongoing triumphs of the Greatest Strategist of All Time!!!!!

Would this be a good spot to point out how unfathomably bad Tom Brady has been since Weis left the Pats for South Bend?

Anyhow … Back to the hypocrites that make up the Notre Dame administration. Here’s a quick recap:

Tyrone Willingham’s three-year winning percentage: 58.3.
Result: Fired

Weis’ four-year winning percentage: 58.0.
Result: Retained for fifth year.

How’s that fifth year going? Based on Notre Dame’s plan to accentuate the positive, Weis is 1-0 with a resounding victory over Nevada.

To the rest of the world, he’s 1-1 after bungling the final minutes of the Michigan game with terrible playcalling. (By all means, throw deep with two minutes left and a three-point lead.)

So that brings us to the updated figures.

Willingham’s three-year winning percentage: 58.3
Weis’ four-years-plus winning percentage: 57.6

And ….

Record Weis needs in UND’s last 10 games to finish with a better winning percentage than Willingham: 7-3.
