Brett Favre Stuns San Francisco with Comeback (Vikings vs. 49ers)

The Vikings vs 49ers game had both teams undefeated, and with seconds left, the Vikings vs 49ers looked to end with the 49ers staying unbeaten. But the Vikings vs 49ers clash had plenty of time left for Brett Favre. Previously, the Vikings vs 49ers game was a disappointment for Favre, as Vikings Vs 49ers Thriller Won by Vikings with New Favre Miracle he seemed set to come up short for his latestcomeback. However, just one impossible play and throw changed all that, as the Vikings vs 49ers showdown became the latest spot on Favre’s Hall of Fame highlight reel.

The Vikings seemed doomed vs the 49ers, down 24-20 with the Vikings 32 yards from the end zone. With barely enough time for one play, Favre escaped some tackles and threw a long ball right into the outstretched hands of Greg Lewis, who got his toes in the end zone to get the touchdown. Just like that, the Vikings vs 49ers game went from a Niners upset to another Favre miracle, and a 27-24 Vikings win.

Favre’s first home game for the Vikings wasn’t going that well until then, as he made just over 50% of his passes, and had to win the game by himself with Adrian Peterson held under 100 yards. The Vikings had failed on their previous late-minute drive, and looked to have too little time left on their last one.

But the Vikings vs 49ers game will be remembered for Favre’s 47′th and final pass, his scrambling, and for Lewis’s perfect catch. With that, Favre fever has officially hit Minnesota, as the Vikings are 3-0 and starting to dream of a big season.

However, the Vikings vs 49ers clash nearly became a coming-out party for the Niners, who almost won despite losing Frank Gore to an ankle injury. Mike Singletary’s up-and-coming Niners still came from behind to lead in the fourth quarter, and were about to get their big statement win of the young season. Instead, the Vikings got theirs.

Still, the fact that Favre needed such a huge pass at the last second to win may be worrisome to the Vikings. He was able to pull it out without Peterson’s help at the end, but it may not be wise for him to do it week in and week out. The Vikings haven’t faced the top of the NFC yet either, so their strong start will face stronger tests soon enough.

But thanks to Favre’s pass, NFL pundits have their first excuse this year to put him back on his pedestal, and say he still has the magic of a gunslinger.
