He was able to pull it out without Peterson’s help at the end, but it may not be wise for him to do it week in and week out. The Vikings haven’t faced the top of the NFC yet either, so their strong start will face stronger tests soon enough.

But thanks to Favre’s pass, NFL pundits have their first excuse this year to put him back on his pedestal, and say he still has the magic of a gunslinger.
