Tiger Woods Fading Billion Dollar Empire Examined
AroDrive Team | Dec 11, 2009 | Comments 0
With the Tigers Woods Scandal far from over, the Woods Empire most of all is taking the biggest hit of all.
This has been evident with Gatorade dropping him and now a statement from he’s website saying “Tiger Woods taking an indefinite Break From Golf”
So, the question now is? How big is this Tiger Woods Empire?

Net Worth
Tiger has earned $1 billion during his 14-year PGA career from prize money and corporate partners. He’s no billionaire yet though. We estimate that Woods’ net worth is $500 million after the tax man and his agents at IMG took their cut.
2009 Income
This year was Woods’ biggest year yet for his bank account as his annual income hit $130 million on the strength of his FedEx Cup win and the continued growth of the Nike golf division.
Prize money
Woods took home $20.5 in prize money this year including his $10 million bonus for winning the FedEx Cup. For his career, Woods has earned $120 million on-the-course including his two FedEx Cup win bonuses and non-PGA tour event winnings.
Endorsements
His biggest deal is Nike whose $800 million (sales) golf division was built on the back of Woods. He earns an estimated $35 million from the deal. With Gatorade out of the picture, remaining deals include: Accenture, AT&T, EA Sports, Gillette, Golf Digest, Net Jets, Tag Heuer, TLC Laser Eye and Upper Deck.
Appearance Fees
Woods commands a $3 million appearance fee typically when he goes overseas for a non-PGA Tour event. His latest was at the Australian Masters in November. Woods used to play two to four of these events a year, but has cut back after his children were born and his latest knee surgery.

Golf Course Design
Following the lead of his idol Jack Nicklaus, Woods launched a course design business with a course in Dubai that started construction in 2007. Economic problems in Dubai have delayed construction, and now Woods’ first course to open looks like it will be The Cliffs at High Carolina in Ashville, N.C. He’s working on a third course in Mexico.

Property
Woods is building a 10,000-square-foot mansion in Jupiter Island, Fla. He purchased multiple properties in 2006 for $44.5 million to create the 12-acre estate. Woods owns two properties in the gated community of Isleworth near the Orlando suburb of Windermere, site of his infamous car crash.

Yacht
His $20 million, 155-foot yacht is named appropriately enough Privacy. It includes a master suite and six staterooms and can sleep 21. Woods received a $1.6 million settlement when he successfully sued the yacht builder, Christensen Shipyards, for using his name and image to promote its boats without Woods’ permission.
