I just saw this this morning I thought I have to share this with you guys. I can’t seem to get enough of this eTrade baby and now they have another coming during the Super Bowl 44.
So before we start with the stupid business of banning Super Bowl ads, check this out;
Super Bowl commercials are among the most coveted ad slots in the corporate world, despite costing around $2.5 to 2.9 million for just 30 seconds slot, there’s always a long list of companies out there ready to show the money.
This year the fee has dropped a bit from last year’s $3 million price tag, but the economy is worse off too so it understandable why the price would drop. What hasn’t dropped off is the brilliant marketing strategies companies’ device to get their name out there during the super bowl.
No company has devised a better strategy in recent times than Go Daddy.
Bob Parsons Go Daddy’s Founder and CEO is a marketing genius, he has found ways to create lots of buzz around he’s product by producing racy ads that might have nothing to do with he’s product but is sure to generate lots of conversation around the water cooler.
Three years in a roll Go Daddy has had an ad banned from the Super Bowl generating lots of hits to the Go Daddy’s website. This year is no different, the ad’s plot; Danica Patrick and a former football player Lola uses GoDaddy.com to launch a lingerie website. CBS thought it was too racy, see the ad for yourself below and tell me what you think.
Advertisers go the extra mile with wacky, fun, surprising and shocking submissions that become the stuff of water cooler talk for days after the big game because when you pay a small fortune for an ad you should be allow to go far and beyond and it seem like the NFL (No Fun League) and it’s TV partners are working hard to remove the fun from the game.
Take a look at other ads that have been banned in the past and you’d see there was nothing racy about these ads.
