Marcus Camby inflicted with the Blazers Curse
Are the Portland Trail Blazers centers cursed? First, Greg Oden is lost for the season with a knee injury. Next, Joel Przybilla suffered a serious knee injury and is also out for the season. To fill the whole in the middle, the Blazers traded for Marcus Camby.
Guess what?
Now Marcus Camby is injured.
Camby was acquired on [...]
Charles Barkley: Michael Beasley and Heats bunch of Cry Babies
This was truly funny, Michael Beasley of the Miami Heat said: My name is not Tito Jackson.
Really? You could have fooled me!
That statement was made in response to a comment TNT broadcaster and hall of famer Charles Barkley made referring to the Miami Heat as a team with Michael Jackson (that would be Dwyane Wade) [...]
NBA’s Top 15 Best Players 2009-2010
The NBA playoffs are fast approaching and we think is time to rank the best players in the link so far.
Please keep in mind this is not a lifetime achievement award the question here is: who is playing the best basketball right now in the NBA?
To rank these players we used a combination of individual [...]
LeBron, Dwyane, Durant: NBA Dynasty of this Decade
I discussed at length in the article LeBron James, Dwyane Wade a Super Team: NBA’s Solution to Ratings Woes! Why the NBA needs one or more Super Teams to get the league back to the status the league held in the Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan eras. Please click here to read the article to understand [...]
LeBron, Wade a Super Team: NBA’s Solution to Ratings Woes!
David Stern said Saturday the NBA is projecting league-wide losses of about $400 million this season and has lost hundreds of millions in each previous year of the current collective bargaining agreement.
in my opinion the problem with the current collective bargaining agreement is that is too archaic with the biggest problem being that unrealistic salary [...]
A Historic Night at Cowboys Stadium with Dwayne Wade
I am yet to see this remarkable edifice Jerry Jones dropped in north Texas but NBA players, who have seen just about everything and possess nearly as much, are a jaded bunch who are not easily impressed.
However, playing the All-Star Game inside gigantic Cowboys Stadium of Sunday left many of the players in awe of [...]
Nate Robinson the Great – 3 time Slam Dunk Champion
It’s amazing how Nate Robinson was disrespected going into this year’s Slam dunk contest especially with the group of guys he was going against; DeMar DeRozan, Gerald Wallace and Shannon Brown all in game dunkers with no real creativity.
With a little help from the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, Knicks’ guard Nate Robinson became the first three-time [...]
LeBron James and Shaq NBA Finals bound after 13 straight?
Cleveland Cavaliers are on a row literally with 13 victories in a row and doing it in a dominant fashion with Lebron James beginning to look like the best player in the NBA – though Kobe Bryant might have something to say about that – read: Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James: Is Bryant Better Overall? [...]
Shaq is Superman and Dwight Howard?
“Don’t compare me to nobody,” O’Neal said, borrowing a line from Jay-Z. “I’d rather not be mentioned. I’m offended.”
These were Shaq’s words after the game against Orlando Magic (February 12, 2010) in response to comparing him to Dwight Howard who is also called Superman.
Shaq made no secret of the fact that he wanted to [...]
Kobe Bryant, greatest Laker ever? Not even close?
Kobe seats alone atop the Lakers scoring plateau and this has lead to a tsunami of chatter on the internet, water coolers and the ever re-inventive mass media about he’s place in Lakers’ history books.
It was a monumental achievement in an organization where greatness is an expectation, and there are more championship rings than fingers. [...]
Greatest Lakers of all time (A-List Edition)
With Kobe Bryant becoming the All-Time Lakers point leader the question of the greatest Laker of All-Time arises.
Greatest of All-Time?
How does one determine who should be the greatest of all-time? I wrote in my article – Kobe Bryant, greatest Laker ever? Not even close?: I would think this will be a combination of individual performances, [...]
Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James: Is Bryant Better Overall? – Barber-Shop Conversations
Before I start with this topic I want to make it clear that I do not support any comparison between these two very talented athletes. I believe comparing athletes on finished products.
A good example of finished product comparison would be Jordan v Magic, Hakeem v David Robinson or even Wilt Chamberlin v Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
These [...]
Iverson is an All-Star Like It or Hate It! The fans got it right
When it comes to voting for the athletes we the fans will love to see in an exhibition game – the fans always get it right.
We pay for all those overpriced tickets in the arenas, spend endless hours on the couch watching the games and breaking down endless stats for fantasy leagues.
The Iverson selection as [...]
Shaq’s Idea is just a start on how to revamp the NBA Slam Dunk Contest
It started with an innocent question from Tom Withers of the Associated Press. He asked Shaq if he wanted to see LeBron take part in the Slam Dunk Contest. Then Shaq rolled out an entire plan complete with a pop culture cause. (For the record, this was not a Shaq original idea. Jay Mariotti of [...]
The Fun continues in A-Town as the Hawks knocks out the Suns
Last night’s 102-101 thriller against Phoenix was pure evidence of the changing sports scene in Atlanta.
While the Falcons broke the ice and had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time ever and the Braves might be back on the mend, there is no doubt the Atlanta Hawks have taken over.
In front of a packed Philips [...]
2009-10 NBA Power Rankings: Week 12 (A-List Edition)
Make it three consecutive Mondays atop weekly NBA Power Rankings for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs are the only team in the top 10 these days that can claim reasonably good health and on-the-court consistency, making them an automatic choice to retain the top spot in spite of a Friday slip-up at Denver with the Nuggets [...]
Gilbert Arenas and he’s 111 million on their way to Jail
Straight-faced and subdued, Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas pleaded guilty Friday to a felony gun charge connected to a locker-room argument, leaving his All-Star career in limbo and his freedom in doubt.
Arenas won’t know whether he must serve jail time until his March 26 sentencing and remains free until then. The government indicated it will [...]
Gilbert Arenas getting punished for insult on David Stern
There’s more to this story that meets the eye. And, it all begins and ends with stupidity from all concerned in the story. (Gilbert Arenas, David Stern and the Public Reaction)
I find it amazing that someone outside of law enforcement has to be told not to bring a gun to work, then I can’t help [...]
2009-10 NBA Power Rankings: Week 11 (A-List Edition)
For all the grief Shaq gets about his pick-and-roll D, it hasn’t really hurt the Cavs yet. They’re giving up the league’s fewest points in the paint since bringing Shaq in, and D has fueled Cleveland’s surge to No. 1.
Injury issues have started earlier this season. The list of health worries is a lot longer [...]
Kobe Bryant’s Last Shot Magic a Negative for the Lakers
Kobe Bryant’s last-second shots are nice and everything, but Lakers Coach Phil Jackson isn’t exactly thrilled with them.
They tend to mask what ails the Lakers for 47-plus minutes in a game, Bryant’s late-game dependability already bailing out the team three times this season.
“I’d just as soon he didn’t have to do that, personally,” Jackson said. [...]

The Hawks remains on at the number 4 spot and looking to move up as Christmas day games will see some of the big 3 fall.

2009-10 NBA Power Rankings: Week 8 (A-List Edition)
Kobe Bryant and the Lakers finally loss a game and Kobe nursing a sprained finger on he’s shooting hand.
The Boston Celtic didn’t waste any time to jump in front and claim the number one position not just on the A-List NBA Power Rankings, but on all NBA Power Ranking across the board.
There’s no doubt the [...]
2009-10 NBA Power Rankings: Week 7 (A-List Edition)
The lakers are undeniably the King of the NBA, they are healthy and Kobe Bryant as usual is having a wonderful season.
Though most of their wins so far has been at home, but this team has proved year after year that they are road warriors, so we can expect thesame this year.
Just below the Lakers [...]
It was a Michael Vick Victory in the Georgia Dome
The Stadium was filled with folks who traveled from far and wide and in a season where teams are unable to sell out games, from my vantage point on the field, there was no empty seat in the Dome.
And this was a home team playing without their 2 super stars in running back Michael Turner and quarterback Matt Ryan. Yet, you wouldn’t believe the electricity and the anticipation the crowd had.
The NBA is missing out on marketing Gold in Kobe Bryant
Except this shot — this off-one-leg, swaying-to-the-left, three-point bank shot at the buzzer to beat Miami — was so ridiculous that it had his NBA peers firing off astounded tweets (“@rudygay22 Are you kidding me Kobe!”) and even Bryant had a hard time believing it. He called it “the luckiest shot I’ve made by far.”
