There’s lots of talk about how Tiger Woods owes the public an explanation about what happened between him, he’s wife and the accident that faithful night. So he released an explanation (If you have not read it yet, you can read it in it’s entirety below)
Today after the statement every one is still saying they want more and the reason they deserve to hear more?
I’ve listed the reasons and my answers to each;
Reason 1 –Tiger Woods is a role model and should be held to a high standard. (As in, he should not be cheating on he’s wife) Really?
Tiger Woods is a Golfer who commands up to 3 million dollars in appearance fees, yet he takes time off he’s busy schedule to play golf for free to raise money for charity, apart from Lance Armstrong and Andre Agassi there’s no other person in the world of sports that has raised more money for charity.
This one guy has done a lot for he’s community than any one you know (including you) and because he cheats on he’s wife he’s not a role model?
Parents, is time you start to tell your kids the facts of life and relationships.
The fact is, there’s a 50% chance your marriage will probably end in divorce and there’s a 50% chance that one of you will or is already cheating on the other.
My question to you now is – does this make you a bad parent to your kids?
People are judged on their complete body of work in life we don’t pick and choose and then draw conclusions. That’s a fool’s game.
Reason 2 –He wants privacy while he keeps making millions from he’s endorsements which are made possible because of the public patronizing he’s products.
First of, the reason he make 110 million a year in endorsement is because this guy is really good at what he does for a living. As a matter fact calling Tiger Woods good at what he does is an insult to him.
Tiger Woods is golf and if he decided to walk away from golf today the game will die a gradual death.
In 1996 the year he went pro there were only 8 players on the money list who made a million dollars or more, in 2009 there were 91, that’s 91 members of the PGA making more than a million US dollar a year playing golf and millions more in endorsements.
Golf did not make Tiger Woods who he is today – Tiger Woods made golf what it is today.
So all of you out there demanding an explanation because you buy Nike apparel or drink Gatorade, or shave with Gillette or any other product he endorses, my answer to you is: stop buying the products there are other choices out there for you.
The major endorsers all came out in support of woods today, you know why? Tiger Woods is the best money making machine since Michael Jordan and the numbers so far shows he might even be better.
I said this before and I’ll say it again: we don’t know what really happened between Tiger Woods and he’s wife Elin or if he had affairs with Rachel Uchitel (who has denied having any affair with woods) or with Jaimee Grubbs (who provided an alleged voice mail woods left on her phone).
So who is Jaimee Grubbs? We know that she graduated from Escondido High in 2003, played volleyball and ran track, has been on a reality tv show, and works as a cocktail waitress in West Hollywood. There are also rumors floating around that she was paid a decent sum of money ($150k) by US Weekly.
This is a girl doing her best to stretch her 15 minutes of fame.
So i’ll saying it again, we have no idea what is true or what is not.
What we do know is: this is a family going through a lot of trauma at this time.
It’s only decent and humane to let them work out their difficulties in private.
You would want the same for yourself.

here’s the Tiger Woods Press Release
——————————————————————————
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.
