NFC East QB Showdown2 NFC East QB Showdown: Romo, Manning, RGIII, Vick, who wins the QB Showdown?[Check out the Weekly Showdown updates below the article]

The NFL season is finally in full swing and this year at A-List we will be compiling various player head to head matchup competitions, these competitions will run all season long with weekly winners based on each player’s individual and team stats. We call these competitions “ShowDown”, we think it’s got a nice ring to it, what do you think?

Each Showdown will be between two or more NFL players of the same position in most cases in different teams and we will jazz it up sometime with showdowns between players in the same team. The Tim Tebow vs Mark Sanchez saga is going to be a crazy story all season long and we intend to have a Tebow – Sanchez ShowDown. Then you have the Andrew Luck vs Peyton Manning saga. Luck replacing a legend in Indianapolis, which of these two will end up with the better season?

  • NFLs Top 10 Worse Coaches 2013
  • NFL Top 25 Quarterbacks 2012-13
  • RGIII the best player in the NFL?
  • Jason Garrett is the most overrated coach in the NFL
  • RGIII is a Bad, Bad, Bad Boy
  • Aaron Rodgers is the NFL’s best QB by far
  • Cam Newton, Michael Vick, Mark Sanchez, biggest disappointments this season.
  • NFC East QB Showdown: Romo, Manning, RGIII, Vick, who wins the QB Showdown?
  • Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, who will be the best QB this season?
  • Peyton Manning set to make Jim Irsay regret the Andrew Luck choice.
  • Tim Tebow vs Mark Sanchez who will be Jets Número Uno?

Those two and more Showdowns will be released in a couple of days. For now we have all four starting Quarterbacks of the NFC’s east division in a season long Showdown.

The NFC East has some of the most compelling, richest and arguably the most popular franchises in the NFL, though aside from the Giants and Eagles the two other teams in this division has really done nothing in the post season in almost 20 years. Yet every media outlet in the country can’t get enough of this foursome. Why you ask?

These four teams have ways of making headlines with regards whoever is playing the quarterback position. The Dallas Cowboys believed they found their franchise QB when Tony Romo came into the picture, yet amidst all the hype and adulation he has only managed one playoff win in almost 7 seasons as a starter. To put that in perspective, Tim Tebow has never played a full season as a starter and yet already has one playoff win. Am just saying….

The Eagles for years had an elite quarterback in Donovan McNabb who led the Eagles to five straight NFC championship and one superbowl appearance, yet the Philly fans just could worm up to him. They booed him on draft day and throughout his 10+ years as the Eagles starting QB. Just imagine if they had a QB who couldn’t take the team to the playoffs every season, like Tony Romo or even Michael Vick.

Oops! I think they have Vick.

The Philly fans are not booing just yet; they still in the honeymoon phase and still in love with those crazy breakaway plays he frequently does during games that just leave everyone watching breathless. But, if Vick and his dream team buddies do not make the playoffs this season….

God help Michael Vick and Andy Reed.

The Redskins though with no playoff success in just about 20 years has grabbed the headlines for their coaching decisions (Joe Gibbs and now Mike Shanahan) and ineptitude at the quarterback position. These guys will play anyone that can throw the ball 10 yards into the ocean. I mean they just finished a season of sexy Rex (Rex Grossman) and John “the legend” Beck.

But Mike Shanahan and Daniel Snyder might have just found their messiah as they gave up so much just to move up one spot to draft Robert Griffin III. I reserve my opinion on this kid for now, but, from what I’ve seen so far, he just another Michael Vick. Then again, what do I know?

Then you have the Giants, drafted Peyton Manning’s brother Eli into the New York media and the craziness never stopped ever since. Every off season the geniuses at the largest media outlets in the city calls for Tom Coughlin’s job and questions if Eli will ever live up to big brothers status. Well, his won two superbowl now! so maybe, just maybe now those noise might just quiet down a little, until the Giants start slow or finish poorly this season. Only in New York!

This season the NFC East promises to be even more competitive and interesting, with all four teams for the first time in forever having a franchise quarterback.

Three of the four staring QB’s in this division are always highly ranked every season, Manning and Romo were both ranked in our top ten QB ranking for last season, Vick on the other hand did not make the top ten because of his very poor play and the Eagles lackluster performances especially at the beginning of the season. But he came back really strong and finished the season really well. Aside from the health question there are no real concerns when it comes to Michael Vick as he has always been a solid performer whenever he is healthy enough to play.

Then you have RGIII, all we have at this point are questions, unfortunately for him he is going to have to answer those questions while he competes against the other three established QB’s in our NFC East QB ShowDown.

So how does this work?

Every week each QB is scored based on five criteria with each criteria assigned a specific number: Touchdowns (TD = 10 points for each TD), Interceptions (INT = -5 points for each INT), Yards (YDS = Total yards (passing + rushing) divided by 10 (example: if QB total yards from game X is 362, then 362 divided by 10 = 36.2)), Wins (WIN = 10 points) and loses (LOSS = -10).

Give us your prediction, which QB will win the ShowDown?

So, here we go:

Robert Griffin III is a Bad, Bad, Bad Boy! RGIII was spectacular but Eli Manning was simply…. Clutch There was only one problem, the NY Giants quarterback has been the most clutch fourth quarter quarterback in the league the last two seasons and 1:38 on the clock was just all he needed to put this game away. It took just two plays for Eli Manning to [Click here to read the article]
